HOW WE BEGAN


When Corporate Dining Concepts was launched at the end of the last century, the field of service providers was made up of three multi-national companies. Their success, growth and size, in fact, were the cause of many clients’ dissatisfaction. It was proven over and over again that large size created slow moving, slow reacting companies; they were becoming programmed bureaucracies.

Clients were not the only ones to notice; the group who together created Corporate Dining Concepts was made up of several senior managers who each worked for the major providers. They felt that the status quo was not acceptable.

This farsighted team would create a high-end, fast moving, pro-active, high-quality business and industry service company. The focus would be on offering restaurant quality food in the at-work environment. The company would be known for great food and great service.

The group agreed easily on how to accomplish those goals: Hire chefs and other professionals who understood the meaning of service. Hiring standards would be demanding; training would be superior to any that currently existed in the industry.

Indeed, since the start, our employee training program has become the cornerstone of our company, advancing the skill level of each team member. We believe that investing in our employees makes us the leader in the industry.

As we grow in size, we remember our roots and the bureaucracies from which each of us came; we continue to run a pro-active company, with employees who are also dedicated to that philosophy.

Our team of employees stretches from Michigan to Mississippi. Most wear the whites of foodservice workers; others are vending route drivers, managers and office staff. Each is a treasured member of our special family – “ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen.”

A statistic we boast about is that last year we maintained zero turnover in management staff and less than 5% in hourly employees.
We are as proud of those numbers as we are of the number of clients we serve.
